BLACK comes with three shimmering KALA NAMAK salt rocks from India. These rocks are truly a secret ingredient – especially in the VEGAN CUISINE – as it adds an eggy, tangy and slightly smoky taste due to its high sulfur content. The flavors make it perfect for many vegan dishes like tofu scramble, chickpea omelets and in various fruit salads.
Grated KALA NAMAK salt also works very well in chaats, chutneys and raitas, but is maybe even more common on savory deep-fried snacks. For an unexpectedly delicious flavor, grate it over your Friday night popcorn. Will turn them into a true RIVSALT gastronomic experience.
PERSIAN BLUE SALT is the rarest and most exclusive salt and is extracted from a salt mine in northern Iran. The intriguing blue color occurs during the forming of the salt’s crystalline structure, as intense pressure is exerted on the salt deposits. The individual crystals fracture the light in an unusual way creating an optical illusion that makes the salt appear more or less shimmering blue.
Taste Initially quite present and then rather mild with a silken sweetness. Highly popular with children for some reason!
Dishes Ideal for seafood, salads, french cuisine & truffles

Essential. Enigmatic material, salt is indispensable on the table, so common that we forget it except when the superstition requires not to pass it from hand to hand or to throw a pinch of it behind our shoulders when pouring. Apotropaic gestures, which basically tell us how mysterious salt is. So why not add to these ancient rituals a more current, cheerful one: grate the salt! A gastronomic exercise but also manual, visual and olfactory. Rivsalt is a new way of giving flavor to our dishes. It is a table sculpture, with a solid oak base. But it is also, above all, a new gesture full of flavor, which brings into play all the senses, and perhaps even a sixth, that of amazement.

Developed by geologists with the utmost respect for whisky.
After testing several rocks from different Islands in the Faroe Islands UNDIRGRUND discovered which basaltic rocks were tough enough to handle the sometimes oil-rich whisky. The Rocks are very unique, because they have the perfect hardness which don't scratch the whisky glass.
In the third basaltic layer in Porkeri on the Islands Suðuroy the basaltic layer was so dense and compressed, that it could withstand any very mature whisky.
These 60 milllion year old basaltic rocks were perfect as whisky-rocks!
